As if old enemies &amp; hired guns aren&#39;t enough, a young female detective begrudgingly works alongside a veteran investigator looking to simply survive his last two weeks on the force before retirement,they seek out the brazen ex-con who has been blazing a path of gasoline-powered destruction in his vintage Chevelle. An ex-con gets on a series of apparently unrelated killings. He gets tracked by a veteran cop with secrets of his own and an egocentric hit man. This is the worst movie I have ever seen. Just crap and waste of timethere is no story. I had expected a lot from this movie seeing the cast but got too disappointed. Can you expect that a person is hit by bullet twice from the back and he is alive. Rest there is no good fight scenes too expected from our hero. I chose this movie on the weekend night and was expecting it to be like other flicks given by my favorite hero The ROCK. The film was very week from very start and did not grab our attention at all. The man who was trying to kill Dvyne had stupid intentionshis only purpose was to kill him for nothing and without any clear motives. He has a stupid girl friend too who also was fond of killing and now had turned pious after getting married to him. Oh my God I cant explain how horrible was the storyline. <br/><br/>don&#39;t waste time on this stupid movie I was surprised by this somewhat. I expected a brainless revenge thriller. What I got was a nicely crafted caper, a throwback, a homage, to several genre films.<br/><br/>The storytelling was straight to the point, almost linear. A vengeful juggernaut-The Rock-gets out of jail and seeks revenge for his murdered brother. He&#39;sfocuseda laser missile. An eclectic cast of characters are in his way. A strung-out cop out for redemption (Billy Bob Thornton), a neurotic hit-man and various unsavory people.<br/><br/>I thought this was nice nod to 70s style vengeance driven movies and somewhat reminiscent of Richard Stark/Donald Westlake&#39;s PARKER character (seen, in its most recent incarnation in PAYBACK, starring MEL Gibson: one man seeking revenge against fellow criminals). A man focused on his mission. The Rock is a cold-blood murder machine. Nothing heroic or even sympathetic about this guy, which makes him fascinating to watchhe runs down his list.<br/><br/>This movie doesn&#39;t reinvent the wheel, but it is a nice cure for the sugar coated holiday releases flooding our cinemas. A nice balance of violence, solid acting and some great music provided by THE HEAVY. The film never outshines its influences, butback-to-basics action filmmaking, it's often superb.
